Strange problem. Never encountered such an issue before...
What is the broken link msg (403, 404, other?).
Any error in the console for this custom file (or
any error regarding some "org.apache.slide.*" in
the logs)? Where does your image is located (in a
file field or within a rich text which points to this image)?
