I guess we have pointed a lot of people to XMPP accounts over the past year or 
so.  As Colin wrote;

We might as well.  The only minus to this is that this means some people who 
technically didn't need to be migrated will be... and that, in turn, means 
breaking some existing metacontacts and probably other minor settings.  (It's 
easy to migrate such things from the old Facebook service... it's harder to do 
it from XMPP, and I'm not particularly interested in thinking through what it 
would take).
