It's not just you; I have root access restored on duck but not on eider.  I 
think that PermitRootLogin is disabled on it, as it was on duck due to a 
misunderstanding I had when Damien @ networkredux asked me what we wanted to do 
with usernames and logins.  I've asked Damien to reenable it there, too.
