AFAIK, emi2 is used in production environments in a couple of sites,
including our own. So you should consider CVS to be a good choice.

Maybe your SMSC is unable to batch the SMSs you try to send in that
speed? 

Andreas, is this related to the "I have to wait for an ACK before I
try to send the next" issue you had/have?
