I should be able to adopt Nisan's approach to fix my own (I can utilise my own smpp_msg_id_type for example). One of my current problems is to do with submit_sm_resp and deliver_sm_resp both being decimal so as you suggest It won't (although if I write and look for both hex it might work - need to check). Either way I saw it as a solution to my problem. I have been looking through other sections of code for examples on implementing hacks but haven't devised a nice solution to this part (the other two pieces, to do with esm_class and source vs destination address are more generally acceptable I believe).
