Title: [RFC] SMPP TON detection
Yes - this might break connections with providers that require you to always set ton and npi to specific values - even if you're sending alphanumeric.

What we need is a way to set the defaults, and still be able to use "force"

Subject: [RFC] SMPP TON detection

Hi,

I'd like to request for comments for changing a bit the logic how the
SMPP module detects the TON and NPI values.

Currently if source-addr-ton and -npi is set in smsc group, the
modules leaves them as they are defined, hence manually forcing.

But that breaks things if you want to have TON=1, NPI=1 by default,
hence manually force in smsc group *and* do sometimes send
alphanumeric source addresses.

A simple change in the if statement braces would fix this behaviour
and let forced TONs change to alphanumeric TON if the source address
is alphanumeric.

Any complains or votes for this change?

Stipe
