I already have a perl that makes that, but i want kannel to do that.

The only perspective I have is that of alerts from internet content
providers, e.g. Yahoo stock alerts, sports alerts, etc. These guys use
commercial SMPP clients or build their own. I don't know how you would
handle callback in true SMS (Mobile Originated - Mobile Terminated).
Callback number is not a feature on the SMPP client that I use. I would
check out some of the commercial clients and ask if they support this
parameter. Or you can google: smpp perl to get a perl module. You can
then add support for the parameters you need. Go to SMS forum at
http://www.smpp.org/ to get the SMPP protocol specs.
I hope that helps somewhat.

Rafael, if I understand your issue correctly, you want to pass a
callback number parameter in SMPP. The way that this is normally done
is
that whomever is sending the content includes the callback number as
part of the message. The callback number is an extra optional parameter
in the submit_sm that should be different from the source address. The
mandatory source address parameter is there for delivery confirmations.
The callback number is for displaying a phone number associated with a
short message.
The callback number is supposed to be set by the originator of the
message. Because Kannel is a gateway, I'm not sure there would be
functionality to specify a callback number within it, just the
functionality of passing one on.
I don't know much about Kannel, just SMPP. I hope I am not being too
patronizing, and just spouting off information that everyone knows
already. If that is the case, my apologies, again.

Subject: callback_num
Hi,
I saw that "callback_num" is declared in "gw/smsc/smpp_pdu.def" but
i didnt saw anything in the documentation about setting this variable.
Do i need to change the source do use callback_num ?
Thanks.
PS: I really need this to solve my problem
