Even though there is no way to push pure SMS text message to MS, that might be enough for my test if I can display the message at Kannel gateway.
What kind of phone simulator can I use for testing this UTF8 encoding chinese SMS sending
with Kannel Gateway, any suggestion?
How is the kannel gateway talk to backend application? directly using SMPP protocol?
Do I have to have a SMSC? (just phone simulator, kannel sms gateway + backend apps enough?) I am in hurry for a testing without enough inivestigation time first.
I will try to find a revision of CMPP protocol docs and distribute to you late.

now, Kannel is capable of receiving UTF8 charset characters, hence you can send
chinese SMS to Kannel and Kannel will be capable in forwarding MO messages to
the backend applications.
I don't see any "way" in letting Kannel push the MT message to a phone
simulator. Mainly the simulators that are arround have no SMPP or EMI/UCP
front-end to connect to Kannel. Maybe a way would be to utilize WAP Push over IP
for this. But this wouldn't be considererd as text SMS anymore.
Kannel does not support CMPP as of current state. But we'd be interested in
getting it boarded via it's own smsc_cmpp.c module. Is there any protcol
specification papar available? Please forward or reference via URL.
