Thanks a lot, Stipe.
Even though there is no way to push pure SMS text message to MS, that might be enough for my test if I can display the message at Kannel gateway.
What kind of phone simulator can I use for testing this UTF8 encoding chinese SMS sending
with Kannel Gateway, any suggestion?
Nop, no idea heere. That's what I tried to say: I don't see (am not aware) of a
phone simulator that could directly interact with Kannel.
Kannel ofers a fake SMSC construct to test the SMSC side. Hence your scope is
beyond that, the mobile itself.
How is the kannel gateway talk to backend application? directly using SMPP
protocol?
Nop. Kannel is considered as abstraction layer of the various SMSC protocols and
communicates towards the backend application layer in HTTP/1.1.
Do I have to have a SMSC? (just phone simulator, kannel sms gateway + backend
apps enough?) I am in hurry for a testing without enough inivestigation time
first.
You can go ahead with application, Kannel as gateway, and fake SMSC (part of
Kannel, see docs) so see the communication chain. There is no phone simulator
that could "display" this MO and MT messages in a fancy little window though.
I will try to find a revision of CMPP protocol docs and distribute to you late.
that would be great. I found the official CMPP 2.0 in chenese, but I don't think
my chenese will be goog enough. ;) Seeing from an other article it seems that
it is structured very similar to SMPP itself. But we'd definetly need an english
spec paper to get further here.
