Personally I have to configure kannel with:
CFLAGS="-I/usr/include/mysql" ./configure --with-mysql --with-mysql-dir=/usr
to get the desired result. Have you tried that, Rene?

What are the specific problems for compiling mysql support, can you guys
please profile bugs reports, so we have a track on this.
