In an ideal world, I agree. However, the person using the mobile phone and who in most cases is not technical, does not understand why the phone they purchased cannot receive the WAP Push. The mobile phone owner will probably not go and get another phone. So if there is any way to enable WAP Pushes to those phones that conform partially to the standard, it means we can offer a service to many more customers.
