If you define "better" as larger download, higher use of RAM and disk space, 
less system integration, fewer and less timely security fixes and other 
bugfixes, etc., then yes, Flatpak is "better". ^^

you to bundle ALL libraries that are not part of the "runtime" bundle. Other 
similar systems even require you to really bundle ALL libraries without 
exception. But even Flatpak's split is nowhere near flexible enough.
