That does help, but then you have to know that it's the magic package
you need to install in order to restore the command line editing
capability.  Nothing about the libss setup makes that obvious, since it
only tries to load a list of libraries by name at runtime and doesn't
link against them at all.  There's no packaging dependency between it
and any of the various libraries it will use.
