So did I, for the last 16 years I have in ~/.rpmmacros

%_topdir                /home/jamatos/rpm/
%_rpmtopdir             %{_topdir}/build/%{?name:%name}
%_sourcedir             %{_rpmtopdir}
%_specdir               %{_rpmtopdir}
%_rpmdir                %{_rpmtopdir}
%_srcrpmdir             %{_rpmtopdir}
