Okay, how is this new user supposed to know which editor to pick when 
prompted for the first time?  Will they just pick one at random?

Are you going to limit it to just installed editors, or anything that 
could be snagged via dnf?

I also should point out that this entire discussion seems to be limited 
to console editors.  Why?  Having $EDITOR pointed at, oh, gedit when 
running under X/Wayland could actually be quite useful and consistent 
with the experience they're already used to.
