I recently blogged[1] about packaging over IPFS

I believe this provides some interesting opportunities for reproducible
builds. In particular, when somebody publishes a spec file in IPFS,
many build servers around the world could simultaneously pick up the
spec file and attempt to build it in parallel.

After making their builds, each independent server could then check it
against any binary RPM that already exists in IPFS and decide if it
matches or not.

The mechanism these servers use to communicate about build results is
currently vaporware.

Daniel
