DDX refers to Device-Dependent-X11 driver, the NVIDIA driver provides
its own binary module for it. Of course, it's also not necessary if
the NVIDIA driver exposes kernel modesetting, then the regular
modesetting DDX that Xorg uses by default should be sufficient.

DMX is something else entirely.
