It says it was retired for failing to build. Fixing that would presumably be less work than writing a new SRS implementation, if PostSRSD is otherwise of acceptable quality. There are also other SRS implementations that may or may not be preferable. I haven't tried any of them, and have no idea what their quality is like, but I happen to know about two others in Debian that would hopefully be possible to package in EPEL or RHEL: https://packages.debian.org/sid/pysrs-bin https://packages.debian.org/sid/srs So options exist for solving this problem.
