debugedit-5.2-3.fc44 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-f12d187e89 has a fix/workaround that seems to work for the packages that were reported to see large slowdowns. openblas (detects the archives are just too big 20.000+ members), ghc (detects that most archives can be skipped because they don't contain any debuginfo) and gdal (detects that the dll.a archives don't contain any ELF members with debuginfo). Could you test for any other packages that we might not know about? If it works out in rawhide we can also backport to f43, but that is now in beta-freeze and I am not sure this qualifies as a blocker.
