Furthermore, OpenImageIO and OpenImageIO2.5 need to be rebuilt before usd. (Since we no longer have automatic repository regeneration in side tags, somebody also has to do the explicit “koji wait-repo f44-build-side-123124 --build=… --request” in between as well.)

Given the moderate difficulty of coordinating the dependency chains here, and the fact that I’m co-maintainer on a couple of these, I plan to use a mixture of (co-)maintainership and provenpackager privilege to take care of all the mentioned rebuilds. Before I start, I will “preflight” the rebuilds in COPR[1] to make sure I’m not stumbling into a minefield.

I note that the Updates Policy[2] says that API/ABI breaking updates like this should be announced to the devel list a week in advance.

In preparation of VFX platform 2026 standard[1], openvdb is on 13.0.0 with soversion change. Affected packages according to "fedrq wr openvdb-devel" are the following:

* OpenImageIO
* OpenImageIO2.5
* blender
* luxcorerender
* openvk
* usd

Please use the command "fedpkg build --target=f44-build-side-123124" to rebuild them. OpenImageIO, openvk and usd requires first build before blender and luxcorerender.
