I help maintain the containerd package for Fedora. At this time, each release of Fedora has a different version of Containerd.
F44 - v2.2.0 F43 - v2.1.5 F42 - v2.0.7 F41 - v1.7.29 Containerd v2.0.x just went end of life so F42 will see v2.1.x shortly (or v2.2.x - see below). Other components in the docker stack (moby-engine, docker-cli, docker-compose, docker-buildx, docker-buildkit, runc) all have FESCO approved exceptions in place which allows the most current upstream version available on all Fedora releases. I am considering an exception request for Containerd which will provide the most current active version from the Containerd project on all Fedora release, subject to any constraint imposed by the version of Go that is available. Release history and policy for Containerd is at https://github.com/containerd/containerd/blob/main/RELEASES.md#support-horizon. Before making the exception request I wanted to check with Fedora developers for any possibly concerns. Please let me know if you have concerns or comments. Users who who use Docker or Kubernetes with containerd may be affected by this forthcoming proposal. thanks Brad Smith -- _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
