The Maxima symbolic algebra package developers talked recently about new versions not being available via RPM and DEB packages, so as I read both Maxima and Fedora lists, I thought I'd ask here. Both Fedora and Ubuntu distribute version 5.47

            Maxima 5.47.0 https://maxima.sourceforge.io using Lisp SBCL 2.5.6-1.fc43

which is several years old---the upstream is on 5.49. Are there technical problems updating the Fedora RPM? Maxima folks expressed interest helping, if needed.
