Hi everyone,
In light of recent discussions about bug report handling and package
maintenance, I figured I'd put out a request for co-maintainers for
yt-dlp. yt-dlp (originally a fork of youtube-dl) is a written-in-Python
audio/video downloading CLI tool that interfaces with web platforms like
YouTube. It also can also be used with mpv to stream videos without a
browser. It's a popular project with 148k Github stars.
Co-maintaing yt-dlp would entail helping with package updates (which
based on bug reports, users expect to receive very quickly after
upstream releases them) and with packaging the new nodejs code needed to
run Javascript challenges [1,2,3].
