Hello all, Due to personal reasons I have decided to pause my role as a Fedora Contributor for now, possibly for indeterminate time.
This effectively includes: - Stopping using Fedora Linux as an Operating System - Stopping the following Fedora Contributor actions: * Writing to Fedora Magazine * Packaging software to the official repos * Helping out on Docs (though I haven't done that in a long while) This means that, since I will orphan them, the future of certain packages is a bit uncertain. For the Fira fonts [0]: We have FiraGO [1] that will need a new maintainer and Fira fonts [2] that needs to go through whole review process [3] to be to re-added to the repos as the newer bbox version. There's also a personal project of mine called bign-handheld-thumbnailer (thumbnailing for Nintendo DS and 3DS roms) [4], while it's basically feature complete I don't really plan currently on further developing it aside from fixing any possible security bugs. Though I think it's fine if it goes orphan for a while. While I won't be using Fedora as a user nor contributing as a Fedora Contributor, I still see value in the "Fedora-RHEL" ecosystem, which can be attributed to the work that goes on Fedora and "flows" downstream. In any case, I will be working this month on getting all things sorted out on the FAS account so it can be mostly on an archived state or similar. By April 1st I should likely not have any current ties to the project.
