Hello! Packages having an "old" dist-tag doesn't necessarily mean that the current version of the package is "bad", it just means that it hasn't successfully been built since a few mass rebuilds ago. There are cases where this can cause problems for users of the package, but that doesn't have to be the case (for example, when the packages failed to build due to new compiler errors but would otherwise be fine). Still, there *is* a process for removing packages that fail to build for a long time - and it will remove a batch of packages from Fedora in just a few days: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected]/thread/RT5Z7L7OWJGCR23WKDIUXNWIFA6QCPLY/ So if you had generated your list next week, it would have been quite a bit shorter and shouldn't have listed any packages that were last built on Fedora 40. > BTW, DistTag (fcXX) is missing in these packages: > shim > shim-unsigned-aarch64 > shim-unsigned-x64 This is intentional, these packages don't follow the same build / release process as other packages (blame Microslop for Secure Boot requirements).
