Does "all user processes" include processes started through Dbus? I've had to set GTK_OVERLAY_SCROLLING=0 to get useful scrollbars back in GTK programs, and was very annoyed when that turned out to be effective or ineffective depending on how a program was started. I had to research how to make Dbus set environment variables, and set GTK_OVERLAY_SCROLLING a second time that way. And what about remote logins? As an SSH session normally runs a shell, the shell's startup files work as usual. Will SSH also run SystemD's environment generators somehow? The environment.d manpage mentions both SSH and Dbus, and yet fails to make it clear to me whether such processes will inherit those variables. > == User Experience == > > Cleaner shellrc files will ease management for users. Nah, it sounds more like adding more alternative configuration files will complicate management for users. Björn Persson
