Hello, I would like to express my interest in helping maintain the mcelog package in Fedora.
While investigating an issue with mcelog on modern AMD systems, I noticed that the Fedora package is still based on upstream version 175, which was released in January 2021. Upstream has since released newer versions, with the latest being version 212. I have already opened a Bugzilla ticket to begin the process described in the FESCo Policy for Nonresponsive Package Maintainers: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2506151 If the current maintainer is still actively maintaining the package, I would be happy to work as a co-maintainer and help with updates, bug fixes, and testing. If the current maintainer is no longer able to maintain the package, I would be willing to take over maintenance and keep the package up to date. For context, I am new to Fedora packaging. I have been learning the packaging workflow and would like to become more involved by maintaining packages. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate any guidance on the next steps. -- _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/infra/tickets/issues/new
