Hi folks, I've adopted the Change Proposal to update libxml2 [1]. I've done a test rebuild in copr [2] and results seem OK. I'll be proceeding with builds for rawhide in a side tag: - libxml2-2.5.4 - libxml2_2.13-2.13.9 - and then everything reported by 'fedrq wr -F src -b rawhide libxml2' [3] with the following exceptions: libxml2 (already built) evolution (ftbfs, missing deps) evolution-ews (ftbfs, missing deps) fpm2 (ftbfs, nettle incompat) gpac (ftbfs, missing deps) gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free (ftbfs, missing deps) gstreamer1-plugins-good (ftbfs, missing deps) kdewebdev (incompat with new libxml2?) kf5-kdoctools (ftbfs, requires extra-cmake-modules 6.30) kf5-kio (ftbfs, requires extra-cmake-modules 6.30) kopete (ftbfs, missing deps) krecipes (ftbfs, missing deps) kronosnet (ftbfs in rahwide, builds in f45) libdigidocpp (ftbfs, something about openssl) lincity-ng (ftbfs, some cmake problem) python-dmidecode (ftbfs, not sure why) qdigidoc (ftbfs, something about openssl?) stoken (ftbfs, nettle incompat) swift-lang (fails with some build error burried in interminable output) vlc (ftbfs, dependency issues) webkitgtk (ftbfs, dependency issues) xmlstarlet (real problem with new libxml2)
Previously I pushed build fixes to armacycles-ad, appstream-generator, collectd, liblouisutdml, libisds (all reasons unrelated to libxml2), and have local patches for libosinfo, shigofumi, librsvg2 to fix build with new libxml2 and will push those to before the build. I updated a VM with the new libraries, and things seem to work fine. If something doesn't get rebuilt or fails, usually this would not be problem, because the compat package will be available. An issue would only occur if there's a binary I want to start the builds tonight, around 18:00 GMT.
