Hi folks,

The update for rawhide [1] went through and things don't seem to be on fire.
I want to do the same thing for Fedora 45, i.e. push libxml2-2.15.4 and a
compat libxml2_2.13-2.13.9 to F45, along with a rebuild of packages linking
to libxml2 that build against the new library.

There is currently a FESCo ticket open [2] to approve this.

Assuming that the FESCo does give its blessing, I'd like to do the builds
soon afterwards. See [3] for some details about which packages have diverged
between f45 and rawhide. The general plan is to fast-forward the f45 to rawhide
where possible, and do a new commit on the f45 branch only in the other cases.
If you'd like a different handling of some package, let me know.

Also, if this rebuild needs to be coordinated with something else,
also let me know, we'll figure something out.

Note that the packages affected by libxml2 changes are not only packages
which contain binaries linked against libxml2, but also packages
parsing XML using libxml2 in some way.

After some mass rebuild for packages based on Ruby gems, at least

* rubygem-loofah
* rubygem-actionpack

now got FTBFS after libxml2 update, even if they are noarch (%check fail for
both packages).

For rubygem-loofah, I've backported upstream fix.
For rubygem-actionpack, currently I cannot figure out if the upstream has fix
for
this issue: need more investigation.

So libxml2 changes may affect more packages than what appear in the previous
list.

Regards,
Mamoru
