Bodhi handles the karma of an update (spanning multiple packages),
gathering feedback from the users, with comments. This is distinct from
a PR feedback where it's more for the packagers and focuses on a single
package. I don't see how konflux in the current or whatever the ultimate
proposed state can handle that. Bodhi is explicitly able to do this
because it is a distinct service.
It doesn't just handle karma, though.
It's also a key part of gating. It's the thing that actually *enforces*
gating (based on the decisions made by greenwave).
It also is a key part of how packages get signed; there's a sort of
back-and-forth tagging dance between Bodhi and the signing server that
makes this happen (the signing server doesn't sign things until Bodhi
applies a particular tag, IIRC).
It also runs the updates and updates-testing composes. Without those
nobody gets any updates.
I do appreciate these clarifications. And I do want to gather them and
put them somewhere, be it in bodhi's documentation, some overly
engineered markdown that is a nightmare to read (no I won't be that
cruel), like any other third brain :). Question is though where/how
would be best to do that, and personally, in a way that does not create
any time pressure, just so we can add up as we remember or encounter these.
