Hello all,

As we are getting ready to push the new KDE Plasma 6.8 update to stable
branches per the KDE software updates policy, we (as-in, the KDE SIG) wanted to
let everybody know that, as-of 6.8, the x11 components are no longer be
released by upstream and are thus obsolete.

The KDE SIG has stopped providing the x11 components when Fedora 40 was
released (See: <https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/KDE_Plasma_6>). Despite
the X11 subcomponents no longer being supported by the KDE SIG, an independent
maintainer was offering those separately. These components remained deprecated
in Fedora and were unsupported by the KDE SIG and now Plasma 6.8 no longer has
the code for these components, so the Plasma 6.8 update will obsolete them on
upgrade.

For users of the x11 components, we recommend you run `dnf offline-upgrade` or
use Discover, as the update may break the system otherwise.

As a reminder, KDE Plasma updates are covered by an existing update policy
exception.

Thank you!
