Guys, would love to get some data from real usage. If you feel brave enough you can flip Firefox HDR support and try that. You don't need an actual HDR hardware, HDR conversion is done at compositor level.
On it.
Firefox in HDR mode uses direct video / WebGL / canvas offload to compositor as an overlay so you may experience more ram usage, video playback tearing - or better video playback and less power usage.I run HDR mode on Firefox on both AMD powered desktop with an HDR monitor and a convertible laptop with sRGB screen using Display P3 for colour management. On desktop, playing a video on You-tube, HDR is properly detected and used. It seems HDR images are unsupported at this time of writingPlease use latest Fedora Firefox (firefox-158.0.1-2.fc44). You need to flip gfx.color_management.hdr.force_enabled to true at about:config and restart browser.

Please file any bugs at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ and CC me there (as [email protected] as I use a private mail due to CSB migration). Thanks, Martin
