I will update libcdio to 2.4.0 in rawhide which comes with changed sonames
for three of its libraries:
libcdio.so.19 -> libcdio.so.21
libiso9660.so.12 -> libiso9660.so.13
libcdio++.so.1 -> libcdio++.so.2
libiso9660++.so.1 and libudf.so.0 are unchanged.
Currently the following packages depend on the old sonames:
aqualung
audacious-plugins
cdw
clementine
fooyin
gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free
gvfs
kover
libcddb
libcdio-paranoia
mpd
mpv
pragha
python-pycdio
qmmp
qmplay2
strawberry
tellico
vcdimager
xine-lib
xmms2
18 of them rebuild without errors against libcdio 2.4.0. Three do not:
vcdimager fails in vcd_xml_common.c, because libxml2 turned the input
and output members of xmlCharEncodingHandler into an
anonymous union
aqualung fails in decoder/dec_mac.cpp with ERROR_SUCCESS undeclared
xine-lib was not built at all, because it BuildRequires vcdimager-devel
vcdimager and aqualung fail in exactly the same way against the current
libcdio 2.3.0, so both are already FTBFS in rawhide and the failures are
unrelated to this update. I did not find an open bug for either one.
I will do the rebuilds in a side tag next week, not before Wednesday,
2026-11-11.
