Only GNOME ones. :-)

The only file type it handles that's not GNOME/GTK+-specific is .desktop

IMHO, it should go into a GNOME Software Development or GTK+ Software
Development group.

I didn't realize it was that GTK+-specific. If so, that sounds reasonable.
