ok, this is quite the long report. ;) So, the issue mainly is:
ConsoleKit -> lxde-session -> imsettings-lxde -> im-chooser -> gtk-immodules -> gtk2 We can break this change several ways: 1. Fix lxde-session to use systemd-logind and retire ConsoleKit 2. Retire ConsokeKit and lxde-session and drop the imsettings-lxde. This might be an option is there's a move to lxqt. Does anyone know the status on that? We should really fix this and not keep ConsoleKit around longer. kevin
