Hi!
I thought this might be really useful for many programers from the open source community (python, etc.) who want to contribute but are not so skilled with linux/kernel internals. Since many of the activities for the XO should be network based, I decided it would be time to connect the qemu images with virtual network "pipes". I used VDE and VNC for that. So the idea is that python coders can develop and test network apps without having many XOs at their disposal. Here is how I did it: http://olpcaustria.org/mediawiki/index.php/ Devserver#how_to_start_many_networked_qemu_instances_with_VDE As soon as I have more space on my HD I will start many instances and people will just be able to use it over the net. Depends of course on your bandwidth and latency. Currently I have instances running VNC: olpcaustria.org:1 ... till :4 Have fun and report bugs please! a. PS: Ivan, I was first ;-) But please report on how this works with vmware. _______________________________________________ Devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
