One LM32 CPU core is about 2400 LUTs and 90MHz. Then, extra peripherals will add more resources and perhaps slow things down - it depends how they are made and connected. You can use the Xilinx ISE toolchain, which models the maximum clock frequency and displays resource utilization, to find out about a particular design before choosing a FPGA.
