This is my first attempt at using it with a song (Wolfgang
says it's fair use and I don't have time today to disagree
with him :)

The video is rotated. To un-rotate, mplayer -vf rotate=2

In this case, I didn't use the Kaossilator's sound. Also, some
of the controls aren't very nicely mapped for the effects I was
trying to make. That's why I often had a hard time getting from
an all-green screen to something more interesting.

I'll try tomorrow or so to also hook up a controller with a
bunch of sliders and potentiometers. That one is USB-MIDI, so
I'll need to bounce the messages through the PC. That'll be
interesting :-)

I'm also uploading this very long and boring clip (needs
cutting) where I experimented with effects. It's 845 MB. The
upload should finish around Sunday 02:00 UTC:

Here, you can hear the sound the Kaossilator generated for the
control input. This isn't really supposed to sound good, it's
more a kind of technical feedback.

All this is just the "Tornado" patch. It's a bit too
green-happy for my taste, but I could of course adjust that
with a bit more effort.
