Hi, as written in my first mail, we are using a card from Fritz! (Fritz! WLAN USB Stick N, with Atheros chipset and driver carl9170), in the 5 GHz band.
We have recently done some tests with a different card, model TPLINK TL-WN821N(C) (v. 3, with Linux driver ath9k_htc), in the 2.4 GHz band. Also with this TPLINK card we have observed strange behaviour if we force a multi hop route with iw dev <devname> mpath set ... : ping reveals a lot of packets lost without apparent reason, the nodes are in close proximity in the same room. We have to do some tests in the lab trying to get multihop routes but without forcing them as above, and see if the problem persists.
