Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi, Bill Which version of
compat-wireless that you used in your openwrt version? Perhaps, you can
try out the following patch. It may be due to the problem of mesh and AP
is not allowed in single radio before that.

Javier-
Thank you for the suggestion. I did try ifconfig mesh0 up, but it made no
difference.
Ifconfig shows mesh0 active, but the transmitted/received packets are always
0 and the AP never shows up on Kismet.
I have tried this on the PicoStation M2 (ath9k), and it works perfectly.
It smells like an ath5k/802.11s problem, unless I'm not seeing something.
Which, of course, is quite possible.
Just to be sure, I have set up a single "normal" AP on it and even two
concurrent APs. All seems to work well - I just can't seem to get a mesh AP
running on this.
Chun-Yeow-
I'm not entirely sure, but I'm reasonably convinced that the mistake was
mine and that there is no problem in OpenWRT.
In investigating the compat-wireless driver, I decided to just make sure
I couldn't start a mesh VAP by itself on a different PicoStation. I
tried it and it worked, so I tried starting up a second VAP in AP mode,
and it worked, too. I went back to my original radio, took a look, and
realized I had a typo in the /etc/config/wireless file. I had somehow
put in an extra letter (mesh_idj is NOT a valid configuration key...)
and that appears to have been the cause of my problem.
Feelin; like a n00b, which, at least to 802.11s, I am.
Thank you for your help!
-Bill
