Yes, of course. That's what I did. :-)

But it does not sound very clean to have unneeded dependencies I can't
remove without needed packages.

Yes.

Running

  # ETP_TREEUPDATES_RESCAN=1 equo upgrade -a

does not change anything (still too much packages to be removed).

I have more than one Sabayon installation. All are synced from
sabayon-weekly. Some are servers, some are desktop. All desktop systems
have the issue, at least. I think servers don't have qt-* packages
installed in the first place. :-)
