I'm using Fedora 11. I generally do a 'make defconfig' to build the
smallest kernel possible and then go into 'make menuconfig' and turn on
all the stuff in the QUICKSTART. I'm not sure what your needs are;
defconfig is nice if you're developing and hence rebuilding and
rebooting a lot, you might not care that much.
