Interesting... Are you sure it's a 86C366 and not a 365? The reported pci id matches the 365. Have you tried using the "novbe" or "noddc" options and configuring the monitor section by hand? It looks like the resolution is being limited by the automatic setup of vertical and horiz refresh.
