It probably is the radeon driver. Unfortunately, xfree86 and it's drivers have no knowledge of acpi at the moment. probably some acpi related regs do not get properly saved by the server.
Can you suggest how I might get to the bottom of this? I didn't have the problem in 4.2.1 but, as there are so many changes to the driver between 4.2.1 and 4.3.0, I don't know where to look. I'm not familiar with the radeon code or XFree86 display driver framework at all.
