Summary: X_PolyFillRectange error with X 6.8 and xcompmgr

Initial Comment:
I upgraded to Xorg 6.8.0 w/xcompmgr(composite) running.
I get the following error.

X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter
attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request:  70 (X_PolyFillRectangle)
  Serial number of failed request:  314
  Current serial number in output stream:  324

I have a similar error after compiling:

This is probably a dupe of #1030467. A fix for #1030467 is
in CVS. Can you verify that it solves this problem too?
If that is not possible, can you at least check whether
setting the environment variable XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS
before starting nedit solves the problem?

XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 nedit

As far as I know, X.org 6.8 was released only a few days 
ago.  What distributions support it already?  Are binaries 
available anywhere?
