Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah. What is the name of the source and location (web site?) that you got the Quran text from? If you have no idea, check surat al-nour (sura #24) aya 7 and 8. If you spot an error there, then keep in mind that this source--the text file--has a few errors and a lot of inconsistencies.
I posted a message to USENET some time ago regarding this source after nobody (web sites using that source) cared to correct the errors it had. See: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/soc.religion.islam/msg/9dc4294fc5bb157c?dmode=source&hl=en If that's the same source you are using, I had a list of more than 176 errors and inconsistencies, but I forgot it in my hotel room while traveling. I remember most of them, though. :) Insha-Allah once you verify if you have the error in surat al-nour I'll try to juice my memory with you. Else, if you don't have the error, you are probably using another source that I have no idea of. Wishing you and your family peace and good health.
