I think most speakers remembered to summarize the question before answering. Also, the location does not allow for a significantly better solution: - there's not enough space between the rows for a dedicated person with a hand-held audience mic- passing audience mics around adds similarly high delays and breaks the almost conversation-like flow of the QA part- fixed audience-mic stands in the room won't work (again, because of the room & seat layout) What could be done if safety regulations and the room setup allow it:Install an omnidirectional mic above the audience to record the question + only enable it during the QA part. At the volunteer-driven conferences I attent / help out at, we sometimes have a speaker briefing to- explain how we signal remaining time during the talk- emphasize that summarizing the audience's questions is important Just my two cents, Christian ------------------------------------------ openzfs: openzfs-developer Permalink: https://openzfs.topicbox.com/groups/developer/T4263952278a0a510-M9338c7f7d17f16741edef2d3 Delivery options: https://openzfs.topicbox.com/groups/developer/subscription
