The commits I cited are likely applicable to every implementation. I did
not check if I could get them to apply to the Illumos tree with patch,
although I did do a quick inspection with grep and vim for most of them.

I cited those commits to make the point that we need some sort of
process for sending these changes to Illumos and as a precursor to my
request for guidelines on what that process could be.

That being said, most (all?) of the core Illumos ZFS developers are on
the open-zfs developer list, so there is no point CCing it too.
Eliminating code differences is one of the stated goals of Open ZFS, so
I would imagine that it is most appropriate for discussion on the Open
ZFS list.
