I just became aware of this thread. I'm the developer of GNOME DVB
Daemon. First of all, I'm thrilled that you consider using it in your
application. Let me first give you a quick overview of the current features:
* Scan for channels
* Watch live TV using rtsp streaming
* Record one or more shows on the same transport stream
* Browse EPG and schedule recordings according to a specified event
Features that were mentioned in this thread that are currently not
supported:
* Time shifting (rewind/pause/fast-forwards live TV)
* Retrieve EPG data from externals sources
* Record complete season of a series by scheduling one single recording
The first two features are part of my todo list for this years Summer of
Code. I thought about the 3rd item, too.
Switching channels is not really fast at the moment, because of all the
RTSP stuff, that's certainly an area which has to improve in the future.
