But I think that Charles Arthur is an optimist if he imagines it is nearly over.

There are still thing such as the complex 6-12 salary payoff structure
for defeated MPs that need attention (Norway: 1 month), and including
the value of pensions and extra top-ups for officials in the
conversations about "basic salary".

For me the biggie in transparency that has to be dug out is the
shredding of the previous 2001-4 receipts by the House Authorities at
about the same time legal action was going on in a test case about FOI
access to such receipts. That is about abuse of process and secrecy,
as well as abuse of expenses, and the former is ultimately more
important.
